ONE-ON-ONE SEWING COURSE

Summary:

Any day, any time! Dates and times to be agreed upon in discussion with Sonja, the instructor. Sewing topic of your choice. $40/hr, sliding scale. More hours= more discount.

Fast-track One-on-one Beginner’s Sewing Course.  6-week course, 3 hours per week. Dates and time to be agreed upon. Same sewing instruction as group Beginner’s. $450

Fast-track One-on-one Intermediate Sewing Course. 7-week course, 3 hours per week. Dates and time to be agreed upon. Same sewing instruction as  Intermediate. $570

Welcome to your very own tailor-made personalized one-on-one course with No Formula’s designer, Sonja Maus.

On a topic (or topics!) of your choice, you will be instructed by designer Sonja Maus, creative mind behind successful Gold Coast eco-womenswear label, No Formula.

You will need to contact Sonja to discuss your options, dates and times for your course. You can discuss together how much time you would like to spend in your tailor-made course, and what topics will be covered. Sonja will assess your skill level, experience, and needs, to formulate a designer sewing course just for you, that will give you the best results possible and allow you to reach your specific goals. Alternatively, if you are a beginner sewer and would like to learn the basics, you can enroll in your own comprehensive fast-track beginners sewing course. Whereas the group courses run over 9 weeks, you will complete yours in just 6 weeks. You will be covering the same program as the beginner’s sewing course-basic skirt.

IF you are already past the beginner’s stages and know your way around a sewing machine and patterns, you will love a comprehensive fast-track intermediate sewing course! In just 7 weeks instead of 10, you will be covering the same program as the Intermediate sewing course-No Formula designer dress of your choice.

Some details:

Although sewing instruments are provided, and there is a ‘sewing kit’ of spares, please bring the following items with you:

-Scissors

-basic sewing kit

-handsewing needles

-pins

-tape measure

-note pad

If you have your own sewing machine with which you are already comfortable using, please feel free to bring it!

 Some info about your instructor:

Sonja is a Fashion Production Diploma graduate from ’99, and has over 12 years experience designing, manufacturing, pattern-making, and working in various aspects of the fashion industry in Canada, the UK, and Australia. With a widespread and comprehensive history of education and work experience in designing for her own label since 2002, and working in various design rooms internationally, she is well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to provide you with all the skills and knowledge you need to learn basic sewing.

She also has participated in multiple internship and work experience programs, as well as sewing teaching courses since 2009, and enjoys passing along her knowledge to willing students! She has carefully drafted this basic sewing course to allow you to learn all you need to know on basic sewing skills and methods to enable you to continue to learn, practice, and grow your skills at home, all the while working at your own pace during the course.
