April 2012 Charity
Wow! It’s April-how did that happen? A third of this new year has already whizzed by and Easter is almost upon us!
The holidays are so close we can almost taste it….all that chocolate Mmmmm
Here are some interesting facts about chocolate:)
-Chocolate is actually a valuable energy source. A single chocolate chip can provide enough energy for an adult human to walk 150 ft.
-Health benefits of chocolate? Most notably, chocolate is a champion antioxidant. Antioxidants help rid the body of free radicals, nasty little molecules running amok in your body which cause aging and disease.
-According to World Emergency Relief,if just one in every 5000 people in the UK donated the cost of one of their Easter eggs – or asked someone who would normally give them an egg to donate the cash instead – it would enable the charity to buy 12,188 laying hens which would then produce more than 1,828,317 eggs in a year. That’s a lot of eggs!
-According to the British Retail Consortium, an average of 80 million Easter eggs are sold in the UK each year at a cost of £500 million!
This month, No Formula is supporting EMERGE POVERTY FREE
What a fantastic organization! Previously under the name World Emergency Relief, they have spent years creating and delivering on great projects all over the world to help end poverty and injustice. For more information about the organization, they have an informative and user-friendly website at : www.emergepovertyfree.org. Check it out over the holidays!
No Formula Charity of the Month for April 2012
Over April, 10% of all No Formula sales will go to Emerge Poverty Free.
Need Easter gift ideas? How about donating direct to Emerge Poverty Free, on behalf of friends and family…it’ll taste just as sweet as chocolate! (and with less chance of getting pimples by the end of the holidays!)
